Stephanie Brown

Professor Stephanie Brown is an NHMRC Leadership Fellow, Head of the Intergenerational Health Group at MCRI, Director of the Stronger Futures CRE and Co-Leader of the MCRI Aboriginal Health Program. Stephanie is a social epidemiologist with two decades of experience working at the interface of policy, health services and community to co-design and implement policy relevant epidemiological and intervention research focusing on the beginning of life, when change is most likely to lead to reduction of health inequalities across the life course.

Her aspirations for the Stronger Futures CRE are to ensure that the Centre is bigger than the 'sum of its parts'. She is passionate about what can be achieved when great minds come together and work collaboratively for health systems and social change to reduce health inequity.

Stephanie lives and works on Wurundjeri and Bunurong Country. Her love of the ocean, walks on the beach, quiet time pottering in her garden and time with family are what keep her strong and resilient.
