Jemma Collova

Dr Collova is a Research Fellow at the University of Western Australia. She works as part of two Aboriginal-led research teams: the Transforming Indigenous Mental Health and Wellbeing Project, and the Centre of Best Practice in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Suicide Prevention.

Jemma is passionate about collaborative research which supports and empowers Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and improves cultural safety in mental health services. She has experience working in psychological research, and across a range of Federal and State Government agencies.

Jemma hopes that the partnerships and collaborations as part of the CRE will help to address health inequities, prevent intergenerational trauma and support healing and wellbeing. She brings experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities in research, and a passion for applied research with policy impact.

Jemma lives and works on Noongar Country. Time with family and friends, her pet dog, and being in the ocean are some of the things that keep her strong and resilient.
