Ida Kaplan

Ida has over 25 years of research, policy and practice experience promoting the health and human rights of people of refugee background. She has developed and delivered training in trauma recovery internationally and nationally.

Ida hopes that CRE continues to conduct and translate research into the major health issues affecting the health and well-being of our population. She hopes that through its research methods, communities facing multiple disadvantages are responded to as survivors in equal partnerships.

Ida brings extensive experience of trauma informed and trauma focus approaches in working with people of refugee background, and knowledge of research method which strengthen participant voice.

Ida lives and works on Wurrundjeri Country. Family bonds, noticing and experiencing generosity and learning from others keeps her strong and resilient.
