Fran is a registered midwife, employed as a research assistant on the Refugee and Migrant Health Research Program. After qualifying as a midwife in 2016, she has worked both clinically and in research, predominantly in tertiary healthcare settings. Fran first joined the Intergenerational Health team as an Honours student in 2020. As a research assistant, Fran’s current work within the team aligns with 'Priority 2' of the CRE. These projects seek to generate evidence that improves understanding of what it means to provide equity-oriented, trauma and violence informed care in our public health system.
As a CRE scholar, Fran feels inspired by the work of her colleagues and study partners, and is excited to learn from their wisdom. Her dreams for the CRE include disseminating accessible research that expands our understanding of cultural and emotional safety for women, families, and care providers.
Fran lives and works on Wurundjeri Country. Her strength and resilience are grounded in the love and connection she shares with her family and community.
