Emily Munro-Harrison
Emily Munro-Harrison is a Wiradjuri woman, Senior Research Officer within the Intergenerational Health Group and CRE scholar. Her professional background includes working in health program evaluation and research, with a focus on participatory and community led methods in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and wellbeing. Emily is in the process of completing her PhD examining the experiences and expressions of culture and community by young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Narrm (Melbourne), in the School of Population and Global Health at the University of Melbourne.
Emily hopes that the CRE will provide a platform for community-identified research needs, with respectful and collaborative approaches to designing and undertaking this work.
Emily's research experience and approach focuses on community identified and driven needs, using qualitative methods which centre the voice of those who the research is designed to benefit.
Emily lives, works and studies on the unceded Country of the Wurundjeri people.
Emily feels strong when she feels connected to place and community. Being accountable for the work she does is important for her integrity and resilience.
